Description: Pell Grants are a form of student aid in the form of cash grants that are awarded to undergraduate students in the US by the United States Department of Education. These tables show the amount of Pell Grant funding for males and females in academic years 2011-12 and 2015-16. The male gender gap in the 2011-12 academic year was over $6.2 billion and increased to $6.4 billion in the 2015-16 academic year.
